To our European Soarnol customers |
| |
| Situation in Japan |
| We have been contacted by a number of our European customers and partners with messages of concern and support. We are very grateful for these. |
| We are closely monitoring events following the massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami that hit Japan on Friday March 11th. Immense damage has occurred with current estimates of 10.000 persons missing or dead and 30.000 buildings damaged. Sadly, those numbers appear certain to rise. |
| The calmness and dignity of the Japanese people, including our Group colleagues, in the face of this disaster has been impressive. Our thoughts and sympathies are with them. |
None of our productions plants in Japan have been affected by Friday’s March 11th, neither earthquake, nor Tsunami. |
| Our Umeda Sky Bldg. in Oasaka (head quarter), as well as our branch offices, in Tokyo and Nagoya, are undamaged. Business continues, and our teams are working to assure full customer service. |
| The Mizushima area in Japan, (south-west), where our Japanese origin Soarnol products are made, is about 800 km away from the Fukushima area (north-east). Business continues. |
| Our European customers are supplied with Soarnol grades produced by Nippon Gohsei UK in Hull. All our grades are of EU origin. Current supply situation remains unchanged. |
| The US origin Soarnol grades production continues at the Nippon Gohsei plant in the US at “Noltex L.L.C.”. |
| Cooperation and support based on the global Nippon Gohsei group has been the cornerstone of a successful Soarnol business. |
| Please feel free to contact your sales representative if there are any questions. |
| Yours sincerely, |
| N. Hamada |

New technically advanced Polyvinyl Alcohol resin developed for PVAc Adhesive Emulsions now launched! |
| |
Nippon Gohsei Central Laboratory in Osaka, Japan has now confirmed commercial status of Gohsefimer WR – 14 for adhesive polymerisation applications. |
| Gohsefimer WR – 14 is a highly modified functional PVOH resin aimed at the PVAc emulsion market for adhesive manufacturers in the woodworking, paper and laminating industries. |
 |
Gohsefimer WR-14 based emulsions can noticeably observe significant improvements in many characteristics and properties, such as improved water resistance to D3 specification and above, excellent product stability – pre, during and post polymerisation and with a very low acidity level, any wood discoloration is reduced considerably. |
| Any customer using this grade is no longer required to use a cross – linking agent, as Gohsefimer WR – 14 can be used as a one component system. |
Nippon Gohsei are also proud to confirm Gohsefimer WR – 14 as a certified raw material for BS EN 204 2001 for D3 adhesion compliance under Sequence 1, 3 and 4 with a superior Pass result in all Sequences. |
The compliance testing was recently undertaken by the U.K. industry organisation, FIRA (Furniture Institute Research Association) and their test certificate and result can be viewed hereunder. (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader available here) |
